The film calls for creation of an open society without caste, gender and class discrimination, rejecting tradition and religion like a worn-out vehicle. G.V. Iyer, the maker of the film, later went on to make a number of films based on Hindu scriptures and spiritual masters, which makes me wonder what brought about such a huge transformation in his thought process.
